As
part of its year-long 10th anniversary celebration, Body Zone Sports
and Wellness Complex will make several renovations to its Spring
Township facility. The biggest investment will come in the form of
new turf for the complex’s two indoor fields.
The project has begun and the new fields are expected to be completed before June 1.
Participants in Body Zone’s popular
Summer
Adventure Camp,
summer soccer camps,
summer
soccer leagues,
summer field hockey and
summer flag football will be the first to use the new fields.
“In 10 years over 25,000 soccer games and countless other programs
have taken place on our fields,” said Ted Kolva, General Manager of
Body Zone. “To not only replace the fields, but also to give the
entire sports and ice complex a facelift, is a great way to
celebrate our anniversary and rededicate ourselves to being the hub
of active lifestyles in Berks County.”

Sprinturf, based in Wayne, Pa. will install the fields which will
be made of their Ultrablade DF system. Ultrablade DF’s parallel and
monofilament yarn greatly reduce infill fly out. In other words,
more of those black rubber pellets stay in the field.
Like Body Zone, Sprinturf has been serving athletes of all ages and
skill levels for years. Since 1998, they’ve designed, created and
installed safe, high-performance synthetic playing surfaces in over
500 locations throughout the country. That includes Body Zone’s
original fields.
Sprinturf fields are designed with the biomechanics of athletes in
mind to maximize both safety and performance. Variables such as
grip, traction, release, footing, impact and cushioning are all
considered in the manufacturing of the turf.
Additional renovation projects
In addition to installing two brand new Sprinturf synthetic fields,
Body Zone will also make several other upgrades throughout the

On top of all of the construction projects customers can look
