Cataracts & Glaucoma

A complimentary lunch and learn program for members hosted by Eye Consultants of PA

As we age, glaucoma and cataract are two of the words we often hear regarding our eyesight. Glaucoma is the name for a group of eye diseases which, in most cases, produces increased pressure within the eye. Left untreated, it’s one of the leading causes of blindness and the leading cause of preventable blindness. A cataract is one of the most often diagnosed eye conditions, particularly as we get older.
Fortunately, both glaucoma and cataract usually respond well to treatment, including medications, the latest minimally invasive techniques and advanced laser treatments. But early detection, diagnosis and treatment are key to preserving your sight. And that’s one reason why regular eye exams are so important, particularly as we get older.

About Abhishek K. Nemani, MD
Dr. Abhishek K. Nemani is a Board-Certified Ophthalmologist specializing in the medical and surgical treatment of Glaucoma and Cataracts. He joined Eye Consultants of Pennsylvania in October 2016 from the renowned Scheie Eye Institute at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia where he served as full-time faculty member and the Assistant Residency Program Director.
Dr. Nemani received his Glaucoma fellowship training at the Scheie Eye Institute where he was honored with the “Fellow of the Year” teaching award and where he later practiced. He received his medical degree and completed his residency at the State University of New York, serving as Chief Resident in his final year. He sees patients in our Wyomissing, Pottsville, Pottstown and Lebanon locations.
Dr. Nemani is an attending surgeon at the Pennsylvania Eye & Ear Surgery Center, Reading Hospital – Tower Health, Physicians’ Care Surgical Hospital, Surgery Center of Pottsville, and Physicians Surgical Center of Lebanon.

Free 50-minute demo workout with a Body Zone Personal Trainer for all fitness levels

Learn more about why personal training makes a difference by jumping right into a workout with a BZ Trainer! Training sessions are always customized to meet the needs of clients, but enjoy a free session that includes a typical workout: dynamic warm up, exercise instruction, balance, core, strength and cardio work, mobility exercises (foam rolling, stretching etc). One demo workout per member.

Battle Of The Trainers MYZONE Team Challenge

Summer is almost here! Here’s some inspiration, and a little competition, to help you to get your workout on.

WHEN:
May 1 – 31, 2019

HOW IT WORKS:
This month-long team challenge will use Body Zone’s MYZONE wearable heart rate monitors to accurately track and inspire your workouts and movement (in and outside of Body Zone) using MYZONE Effort Points (MEPs) as a scoring guide. Sorry, MEPs in grey zone do not count for this challenge.

The fun part? You’ll be a member of a team with a Body Zone trainer at the helm offering you tips, guidance and motivation the entire month. Members of the winning team get a free month added on to their membership. We’ll be giving away other items through weekly challenge workouts throughout the month.

High blood pressure is an easy disease to overlook. There are often no visible signs or physical symptoms. Because of this, it’s important to have your blood pressure checked and tracked on a regular basis.
