Summer Adventure Camp

With 23 years of experience, Body Zone Sports and Wellness Complex is Berks County’s top destination for youth summer camp. Our 160,000 sq. ft. facility offers more fun and activities than any other summer camp in the area, making it the perfect place for kids ages 6–13 to stay active, creative, and engaged all summer.

At Summer Adventure Camp, campers can enjoy swimming, ice skating, sports on giant fields, arts and crafts and special Monday Art Classes. Outdoor programs like our camp garden project, weekly themed activities and rotating attractions ensure there’s always something exciting to explore.

We keep a small camper-to-counselor ratio of 10:1 to ensure personalized attention, and our enthusiastic, caring camp counselors help every child have a safe, fun and memorable summer experience.

Weekly Schedule & Themes

In addition to our great weekly themes and featured guests and programs, daily activities such a ice skating, swimming, field and court games add to the total summer camp experience and provide kids with a well-rounded week! When weather allows, we’ll be outside for plenty of fresh air activities!

Week #1: June 8-12

Aloha Summer! Let The Summer Adventure Begin!

We’re kicking off camp with bright, tropical-themed crafts, games and outdoor activities. Campers will create island-inspired art, enjoy team challenges and meet new friends as we launch into the summer mood. This week also features a hula dancing performance from Shock Culture Performing Arts Center, helping campers jump into the fun!

Week #2: June 15-19

Mad Science Mayhem Experiments, Explosions & Discovery!

Get ready for hands-on experiments, surprising reactions and plenty of “wow!” moments as campers become real scientists. Each day brings new challenges that spark curiosity, creativity and discovery. The Reading Science Center joins us for a special demo to take the excitement to another level.

Week #3: June 22-26

Safari Adventure Journey Through The Wild!

Campers will journey into the “wild” with animal-themed games, scavenger hunts and nature-inspired crafts. Along the way, they’ll explore different habitats and learn about amazing creatures. The highlight of the week is a visit from Swartz Farm, bringing real animals and hands-on learning to camp.

Week #4: June 29-July 3

Stars & Stripes Celebration Red, White & Blue Week

This red-white-and-blue week is packed with festive fun! Campers will make patriotic crafts, play outdoor games and enjoy friendly competitions with their friends. We’ll celebrate teamwork and camp spirit all week long and welcome a a special visit from the Sweet Ride ice cream truck to kick off Fourth of July weekend with a sweet treat!

Week #5: July 6-10

Superhero Academy Train Like A True Hero

Kids will tap into their inner heroes with cape and mask crafts, obstacle courses, and team challenges made for camp fun. Along the way, they’ll practice teamwork, confidence, and helping others. A special visit from the Spring Township Fire Department lets campers get up close with a real fire engine and learn simple, important safety tips from local firefighters.

Week #6: July 13-17

All-Star Sports Week Game On!

Each day features a different sport or active game that’s fun for beginners and kids who just love to move. Campers will practice new skills, build confidence and cheer each other on in a positive and encouraging environment. Special visits from Body Zone figure skaters, along with guests from the Reading Fightin Phils and the Reading Royals, give campers a chance to see how local athletes train and compete.

Week #7: July 20-24

Carnival Craze Big Top Fun All Week!

Step right up! Camp will transform into a colorful carnival full of games, prizes, crafts and silly competitions. Campers will rotate through carnival stations and enjoy special attractions throughout the week. Highlights include: face painting, a visit from juggling group, the DKers, and so much more.

Week #8: July 27-31

Under The Sea Explorers Dive Into Ocean Fun!

Dive into ocean fun with sea-life crafts, water games, and creative nautical challenges. Campers will learn about ocean animals and their habitats while making colorful, underwater-themed art. A special visit from the Forgotten Friend Reptile Sanctuary brings some awesome reptile friends to camp for an up-close learning experience kids will love!

Week #9: August 3-7

Race Around The World Global Games & Adventures

Campers will embark on a global journey, exploring a new country each day through crafts, games, traditions and team challenges. As they travel from country to country, they’ll earn passport stamps for every activity collecting a colorful keepsake of their adventures! The week’s excitement reaches new heights with a giant inflatable obstacle course, where campers can race, climb and bounce their way to victory while celebrating their world travels.

Week #10: August 10-14

Summerween Spooktacular Silly, Spooky Summer Fun!

It’s Halloween … in August! Campers will enjoy silly costumes, pumpkin-style crafts, themed games and not-too-spooky surprises. This fun, lighthearted week includes a Halloween Parade and Monster Mash Dance Party with DJ Luis Serrano.

Week #11: August 17-19 (Special three-day camp)

Camp’s Got Talent Show Off Your Skills!

This three-day camp week is all about creativity and confidence as campers explore their talents, from art and music to sports and silly skits. Kids can shine on stage or behind the scenes as they prepare fun mini-acts. Local magician Joel Delgado will showcase his talents and end the summer with a fascinating show!

  • Camp is for children ages 6-13.
    • Weekly registration closes on the preceding Friday @ 5:00 PM.
    • Walk-ins are not permitted for any reason.

    Important Summer Adventure Camp Details

    • Parents will be required to fully complete a Summer Adventure Camp Medical Form also covering pick-up consent and extended care information.
    • Parents of children with special needs are asked to please call Body Zone’s Camp Director, contact info below.
    • Extended care service offers the flexibility you need on busy days: early drop-off, 7:30-9:00 AM and/or late pick-up, 4:00-5:30 PM.
    • Families registering more than one child receive a $10 sibling discount per additional camper. This discount is not available online. Please contact Body Zone’s Camp Director (see information below) to apply the discount.
    • Body Zone’s Summer Adventure Camp handbook will be emailed to all registered campers.

    Daily Fun That Completes the Summer Camp Experience

    Along with our weekly themes, each day features exciting activities that make every week well-rounded and unforgettable. Weather permitting, we’ll head outdoors for plenty of fresh-air fun!

    Monday Funday: Kick off the week with an art class, plus a mix of indoor and outdoor games and sports.

    Take A Dip Tuesdays: Campers cool off and play in our large, safe swimming pool.

    Wacky Wednesdays: Midweek brings extra excitement with special guests and surprise attractions.

    Chillin’ Thursdays: Hit the ice! Campers enjoy skating on one of our NHL-sized rinks.

    Fantastic Fridays: We wrap up the week with more skating and swimming for a fun-filled finish.

    MEET OUR CAMP DIRECTOR: JULI HYATT

    Juli Hyatt brings her lifelong love of the water and a passion for working with kids straight to Body Zone’s Summer Adventure Camp! She’s been swimming since she was four years old, and her journey has taken her from local pools to national-level competitions like YMCA Nationals and Eastern Sectionals. As a former college swimmer at Albright College, where she still holds a relay record, Juli knows what dedication, teamwork and fun in and out of the water really mean.

    Juli offers a strong combination of experience in education, youth leadership and program development to Body Zone’s Summer Adventure Camp. With a Master’s of Science in Education and hands-on roles as Body Zone’s Aquatics Director, teacher and coach, she’s skilled at creating a safe, engaging camp environment where everything runs smoothly—and kids have a blast.

    When she’s not in the water, you might catch her cliff jumping, road tripping, or loudly cheering for the Philadelphia Eagles!
