Meet Our Skating Instructors

Meet the team behind our Learn To Power Skate program!

Led by Stacy Grebe, Body Zone’s Director of Skating Programs, our Learn To Power Skate instructors are leaders on the ice, experts of the sport and represent more than 70 years of combined experience.  Read Stacy’s bio here and meet the rest of the team below.

 

Amber Steinhilpert
Amber is a member of Alvernia University’s women’s NCAA Division III ice hockey team where she is also pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Amber has been playing ice hockey since she was 11 years old. From Anchorage, Alaska, she has been to numerous training camps, including the USA Pacific District Player Development Camp and the Great Alaska Showcase. In 2017, Amber played for the Anchorage North Stars and her team won the USA Hockey Tier II National Championships. She is also an instructor for Body Zone’s Learn To Skate USA program. After graduation, Amber will continue playing ice hockey, while working as a registered nurse.

 

Dr. Niki Wagner
Dr. Wagner is a physical therapist who has been coaching figure skating and power skating lessons for 30 years. She has gold medal test credentials in compulsory figures, freeskating, moves in the field, and ice dancing. She has worked with all ages and levels of hockey players, from Mighty Mites to Midgets and AA hockey, as well as college and men’s league players. Niki has conducted power skating clinics for referees to help them improve their skating while officiating. Her professional experience and knowledge of the body allows her to teach players to better utilize their posture and muscles for proper edgework, speed and power, as well as flexibility, agility, and strengthening to maximize their skating and prevent injuries. Dr. Wagner is also an instructor for Body Zone’s Learn To Skate program.

 

Grace Wilson
Grace is a Medical Imaging Student at the Reading Hospital School of Health Sciences and is pursuing a career as a Radiation Therapist. Grace has grown up on the ice and has been taking skating lessons since she was 5 years old. She’s competed for many years in local figure skating competitions under the guidance and instruction of Coach Niki Wagner. At 15 years old Grace switched to playing ice hockey and has been on travel teams at Jr. Flyers, Little Flyers U19 AA, and currently at York Lady Devils U19 AA Elite. She has been instructing all age groups and levels in the Learn to Skate program at Body Zone for the past 2 years. In the near future Grace is looking forward to helping coach the Reading Jr. Royals travel team program.
